Welcome to J.S. Hubbs Guest House, where family history meets modern hospitality. Nestled just steps from Keuka Lake and the Village Square, our property offers three unique accommodations: Hubbs Cellar, The Nautilus, and Junior’s Suite.

Hubbs Cellar is a cozy, stylish one-bedroom retreat tucked beneath the main house, featuring a fireplace, wine fridge, bistro dining area, and handcrafted touches — perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Next door in the historic Carriage House at 19 Shethar Street, The Nautilus is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom lower-level unit, named in honor of our mother’s work with Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, the father of the nuclear submarine.

Upstairs, Junior’s Suite offers two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a large, comfortable living room — ideal for families or friends looking to relax and recharge.

Lovingly owned by our family since 1894, each space at J.S. Hubbs Guest House blends historic charm with modern comforts, inviting you to experience the beauty, history, and hospitality of Hammondsport.

We checked out today but we didn’t want to leave! This place is a gem. It’s close to everything, the lake, the restaurants, The Hidden Cork, the wineries, and the museums. Very clean and well appointed. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed at Hubbs Cellar for our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed. Located right across the street from the grocery store and just a short walk to the lakefront and charming downtown Hammondsport, it made for the perfect weekend retreat. We were greeted by the fresh scent of clean linens and a well-maintained, sparkling unit. The overall cleanliness truly stood out. The crisp sheets, cozy blankets, and tasteful decor throughout made us feel instantly at home. Walter and Meredith went the extra mile by leaving a local dry Riesling chilling in the wine fridge for us. Though we never met them in person, their hospitality and warmth were palpable through the app. They were responsive, thoughtful, and clearly wanted us to have a great stay. We highly recommend staying at Hubbs Cellar when visiting Hammondsport on Keuka Lake. You won’t be disappointed.

Our stay at Hubbs Cellar was fantastic. The space is perfect, spacious, and comfortable, and the location can’t be beat. Just steps from the lake and everything the town has to offer in terms of shopping and dining. Wow, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Hammondsport! Steps from the lake, restaurants and minutes from wineries and other activities. Walter’s place was spotless and comfortable. A lot of thought was put into having everything you could possibly imagine. We didn’t want for a thing. It was quiet and peaceful, and we loved saying hi to Macy, the black lab. We would definitely return to Hammondsport and Walter’s place. Highly recommend!

This lovely place in Hammondsport was perfect for a first ever trip to the Finger Lakes. It is extremely well appointed and very clean. The furniture and bed are high quality and very comfortable. The space is quite large for a one bedroom and has a beautiful dining room. We appreciated the special coffee and the complimentary bottle of local wine! Its location close to the lake and restaurants and shops is also perfect. We will definitely look to stay again if we come back to the area.

Walter and his team were exceptional hosts while hosting our out of town guest for an extended stay at Hubbs Cellar. The place was exceptionally clean, well stocked and Walter was a great communicator. The property is centrally located in downtown Hammondsport and able to walk to the lake, shops and eateries. 10/10 recommend.

We wish we could give more than 5 stars! Walter’s place was gorgeous and a treat to stay in. It was within walking distance to all the restaurants in town and only steps away from the water. Walter was extremely kind, flexible, and communicative. He gave us great recommendations for a dog park in the area (which our dog loved) and a wine bar that we thoroughly enjoyed. He was able to check us in an hour early, and he even left us a bottle of wine as an anniversary present. The whole stay was wonderful and we can’t recommend it enough. We will definitely be back!

Walter’s place was amazing–roomy, spotless, close to restaurants and the beach and so much more. The apartment has comfortable furniture throughout, including the bed, a full kitchen and lots of room to spread out or work away from home (unfortunately)! Walter left us a bottle from a local winery and gave us helpful information about wineries, restaurants and the general area. We had our Aussies with us and they were welcomed and very comfortable. Hammondsport is a quintessential dog friendly small town complete with town square and gazebo (and a concert on Thursday night), ice cream parlor (that serves breakfast), bakery, coffee roaster, town beach and good dinner restaurants–what else is needed? Excellent wineries are near-by as well as a dog park. We plan to make a return visit and will definitely stay at Walter’s place!

The actual Airbnb was very spacious, clean, and included everything you might need for the weekend. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance as well as the lake. Hubbs Cellar was absolutely stunning! The space was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Everything was so well thought out, warm and welcoming and had everything we could need for our stay. Walter was a great host as he maintained communication throughout our stay. He offered suggestions, coupons and a bottle of wine for our stay. He was very responsive and was always making sure we were enjoying all the place had to offer. We stay in quite a few Airbnbs when we travel and Hubbs Cellar was far superior to other places we’ve stayed in and was way above our expectations. We will definitely stay here in the future when we visit Hammondsport again!
